1. I’ve read some of this author’s other works. Does this book get steamy?
Yes, but not like Generational Sins or Protectors. This is a book that is a similar heat level to The Billionaire Bum. There are a couple of pretty sexy scenes, but the focus here is really on the relationship and the story. It’s a true romance.
2. Again, I’ve read some of this author’s other works. Is there any violence?
No. There are some action scenes for sure, but no physical or sexual violence of any kind. It’s a fun, heart-warming story. Very tame language most of the time too.
3. It’s about aliens. Are they creepy?
No. These aliens are very human-like. There are some other species described in the book but all of the relationships described with humans are pretty earth-normal.
4. This doesn’t sound like Samantha Blair’s other books. Will I like it?
We’d like to think so. It’s intended for a wide variety of audiences. Sci-fi romance is not everyone’s favorite genre, but this book is more of a “girl goes on a journey” kind of story with an interesting setting. The background characters give it depth, but it’s less sci-fi and more young adult finding her way.

With the Winter Olympics among us I couldn't help but look for a fun 'Olympic' related book to read. And I found a great one. If you are looking for something a little different, this is your book. It has mystery, romance, and a very unique look on what our future could hold for us. The people we meet in this book are interesting and I hope we learn more about them in future books.... Hint awesome author, write more!!!!I can't leave out the Intergalactic part of this book. I was a bit iffy, it's not what i would normally read, but I had to take the chance. And i'm glad I did. The world the author created was pretty cool.
I would recommend this book to anyone looking for more Olympics, or even if you enjoy romance, Ice skating, or those who like futuristic books. But even if you might only like one of those, give this book a chance.

I used the loan program for this one as I have to say, the cover kind of threw me as I was worried this was strictly YA and didn't want to waste money on this possibility.
When I look at the author's other writings, I'm really and pleasantly surprised how sweet the love story is. The hero is a guy we all wish we could meet and the heroine was someone to admire as well. She makes mistakes but realizes and owns up to them. There is some interesting world building of about how daily life happens on a world that is covered in snow/ice.
The mother of the heroine was too over-the-top and the father was a sad loser in my opinion (he just let his wife run roughshod over his daughter and gave crap advice to his future son-in-law).
I think this story had the potential to be a 4 star for me if 1) the editing had been better, 2) the mother wasn't so one-dimensional in her selfishness and boorish behavior, 3) the interesting side story of how another race is treated like 3rd class citizens was more fleshed out and 4) the non-earth folks had names that weren't so earth sounding like Eliza, Lynette, Emma, it took away from the world building.
Awesome book, I loved it! It kept me glue and turning the page to see what happens next. Author Samantha Blair did it again, she wrote another awesome book! ^_^
